Speed and Consolidate Your Jobs
CoSort delivers fast data transformations, reports and security.
Challenges:
Back-end integration, staging, and conversion of big data sources take too long, or rely on expensive or complex transformation methods in:
• Perl scripts or custom programs
• SQL joins or procedures
• A legacy sort or ETL tool
• A data quality or BI application

Data capture and reporting run in separate steps or products, and could be faster.

To comply with privacy regulations you need data security, but your data manipulation and outsourcing processes still need access to the file(s). Current encryption tools only protect data at rest in a specific database, or lock down far more than just the fields you need to protect.

Test data needs to look real, but using production data for testing is unsafe.

Your existing sort is not fast or flexible enough.

Solutions:
CoSort addresses these challenges with a powerful data definition and manipulation tool called SortCL. SortCL is a 4GL you configure via CLI, GUI or API to simultaneously:
accept and filter many file sources and formats
integrate, transform, protect, and reformat
output to multiple targets and formats

Click on the links below to learn how you can use CoSort's SortCL tool to:

Transform large files externally to feed ETL and BI tools
Speed DB reorgs, loads and queries through pre-sorting
Encrypt, de-identify and protect sensitive data fields
Convert data types (e.g. EBCDIC, packed, Chinese)
Convert file formats (e.g. ISAM<>Vision, XML<>CSV)
Re-host mainframe (JCL) sort/merge operations
Capture changed data and analyze clickstreams
Segment, re-cast, stage, and hand-off data
Produce custom, detail and summary reports
Generate safe test data in production formats
Help manage risk, compliance, and audit issues

The CoSort package ships with many other interfaces and utilities, including:

• a Java GUI and API call for SortCL scripts
third-party data and mainframe sort metadata converters
sort replacements for COBOL, SAS, Natural and Unix

Add on-options include sort and metadata hooks for Informatica, DataStage, etc., and a best-of-breed dashboard application.

CoSort's Fast Extract (FACT) for Oracle and Test Data (RowGen) tools both leverage the same transform and report metadata used in SortCL. Meta Integration Technology, Inc. (MITI) provides a metadata conversion facility for the identical SortCL and RowGen field layout metadata. Their affordable Meta Integration Model Bridge (MIMB) automatically converts flat file descriptions you may have coded in DSX, XMI, XML, and many other ETL and BI tool formats for use in CoSort tools, so you can leverage your metadata investments and get up to speed with CoSort faster.

CoSort can also help you achieve certain master data management (MDM), customer data integration (CDI), and IT control (CobIT) goals. Find more information in the Data Governance solutions sections, and browse through the Solution menu above.
